Account & Data Deletion
ThinkNote places you in full command of your space. We support direct, automated deletion of your authenticated profile and synced material. This action cannot be reversed.
How to Delete Your Account & Associated Notes
We provide two convenient paths to request or execute complete data purging:
Method 1: Direct In-App Deletion (Recommended)
The fastest way to purge your sync profile is directly within the ThinkNote application. This sequence does not require human queue times:
- Launch the ThinkNote app on your device.
- Tap on your **Profile** tab in the bottom navigation shell (located far right).
- Select **Delete Account** or **Delete Account and Data**.
- Read the security alert, input verification details if requested, and confirm execution.
- The system will instantly contact Firebase and the ThinkNote API, deleting your authentication credentials, cloud-backed folders, custom tags, and all registered notes. Local cached records are also wiped when the app logs out.
Method 2: Email Deletion Request
If you have uninstalled the application or can no longer log in, you can request that our support team manually purge all cloud-synced account data.
Please email our support coordinator at support@unicef.edu.eu.org, incorporating the following points:
- Subject Line: Account Deletion Request — ThinkNote
- Support Email: The exact email address used to register your account on Firebase.
- Explicit Request: A simple sentence stating that you want to delete your account profile and all online notes.
Our support coordinator will verify the request ownership and complete the deletion sequence. You will receive a confirmation message once the purge is successful.
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When an account deletion request is processed through the in-app sequence or support email:
- Authentication Identity: Your complete Firebase login profile, email address, password hashes, and user ID are removed.
- Notes Database: Every note, drafts list, pinned position, trash categorization, and favorite tag associated with your user ID on our backend database is completely dropped.
- Workspace Structures: Custom tag labels and organized folder metadata linked to your user ID are deleted.
- Device Cache: The app-local database files are cleared upon the successful completion of the in-app deletion flow.
What Data May Be Retained?
Once deletion is confirmed, your files are wiped immediately from active production node databases. However:
- System Backups: Encrypted system backup copies made pre-deletion may persist for up to 30 days before being completely and automatically overwritten.
- Technical Logging: Standard server diagnostic tracking logs (which do not contain decrypted note bodies or direct user contents) may retain basic request transaction metrics for performance monitoring and diagnostic safety before recycling.
